Once Upun a Seam
This is my Junior Collection from Brenau University and is centered around fairytale characters based on sewing puns. I designed ten (10) original costumes, two (2) repeating prints, and patterned/built three (3) of the designs for this collection. The collection includes historic costuming, prop making, millinery work, couture sewing techniques, and patchwork quilting. These three costumes, as well as the four from my Senior Collection (The Birds and The Seeds) were patterned in four weeks and built in four months. I really ranged in my stylization of this collection because I wanted a series that could be understood by a general audience that still had plenty of nods to historical context and sewing knowledge that a more niche audience would understand.
